how to create a natural and low waste makeup routine
makeup, one of the nuts that I am still trying to crack...
In one aspect of this, I have cracked the nut about how to go about with makeup and in another way not so much. Eco stores online do for the most part sell makeup that is both naturally made, vegan and non cruelty checked but what I still am battling with is that your brushes that you use to apply your makeup is in bamboo but I have a very hard time finding naturally made, completely vegan and non cruelty makeup that is also stored in reusable containers. And the few brands that do, do not sell makeup in colors that fit my skin tone.
Most of the foundations that I have tried from companies that sell both naturally made, vegan, cruelty-free makeup that is also stored in a reusable container, has been too yellow, too light or too dark for my light pale skin. So that stops me from being able to use this great makeup that is both naturally made, vegan and cruelty-free as well as packaged in reusable containers.
So if some any companies feel that they want to give it a shot and send me makeup that is both naturally made, vegan and cruelty-free as well as packaged in reusable containers and that has foundation colors that actually fits my pale face I would be extremely thankful.
Do you guys out there have any tips don´t hesitate to throw me an email or send me a private message or throw in a comment on my Instagram account @low.waste.lifestyle
Down below i show what to think about when you shop for makeup
Chose organic and sustainable packaging like glass, bamboo or metal.

This is the make up i am using as of today
I have tried and liked the makeup from the company Zao. They package in wooden Bambu packaging and you buy the makeup separately and put into the cases with the help of magnets. I think I am going to try piece by piece to change out all my make up to their brand.

Something else to think about is which makeup brushes you use.
I only use brushes with wooden handels, those handels can be composted at the end of their life.

What I do not understand is that it´s easier to find makeup brushes in Bambu then it is to find makeup that comes packaged in bamboo or metal packages that you can reuse. Can someone explain that to me, please?
My makeup brushes are made from bamboo and metal and the hairs are bristles are made from natural materials.

To remove makeup another easy change to make is to change from using single use cotton rounds to remove makeup with. Instead you should use reusable cloth rounds from organic cloth material like organic cotton for example.

My cloth rounds are both bought and sawn by myself which was rather easy. I only use water and soap to wash my face at night but sometimes when i use waterproof mascara i use my cloth rounds to remove my mascara with some formula that removes water proof makeup.
Those are my tips when it comes to how to use makeup zero waste style.
